Ensuring Our Chosen Future

Michael P. Mills was elected to Canandaigua City Council, representing Ward 1, on November 7, 2023. His first term began in January 2024. Michael serves on the Planning and Finance Committees.

Mills' focus on Canandaigua City Council is to drive economic development, protect our natural resources, and increase collaboration between local governments that will lead to prosperity, environmental sustainability, and better quality of life for members of our community.

The Finger Lakes and Canandaigua are increasingly known globally for their beauty and outdoor activities, and the bounty of our agriculture and beverage tourism. And Canandaigua sits in the middle of an emerging microchip, fuel cell, and technology hub but needs a vision to drive our chosen future. 

Michael believes we must strategically plot economic growth that also protects the resources and history that make our city and region so attractive to visitors, entrepreneurs, and residents, alike.
